Museum Without Walls

User Curated Art Spaces

This project was created by a design team from Koc University as part of the British Council’s Museum Without Walls 2.0 program. We were prompted to explore innovative ways of presenting the British Council's art collection digitally, with a focus on audiences from the Global South.

We envisioned a system of curated public spaces, where users such as museum employees, curators, artists, or the public could showcase curated collections and engage with each other. Users would be able to discover the collection by visiting these spaces and through creating them. These spaces can be accessed through a web platform and can also be experienced via Augmented Reality where the room user is in is transformed into an exhibition space.

To demo this concept, we developed a limited-functionality prototype using a portion of the British Council's art collection. I was part of the design and concept development team and was the developer of the web prototype.
